Circumpolar constellation and Big Dipper Navigation review.
Wednesday-Thursday:
Identifying fall constellations. 10 new constellations to learn.
Friday:
Night sky quiz covering the material we reviewed this week. Pay attention to
those star maps. A study guide should be up sometime Wednesday evening.
6th Grade Math
Monday:
Still a day off. ☺
Tuesday:
A quick review of prime factorization and the GCF, then on to using these
skills to identify equivalent fractions (along with making some of your very
own.) ☺
Pages 176-178 in text.
Anticipated homework: pp 178-179, problems 6-22, 24-29, and 31.
Wednesday:
Check homework, then on to Section 4-6 on mixed numbers and improper fractions.
Pages 182-184 in text.
Thursday:
More fraction work and then developing skills in finding the Least Common
Multiple of 2 or more numbers.
Pages 158-159 in text.
Anticipated Homework: pp 190-191, problems 8-26 every 3rd problem, use
prime factorization for all of these problems. also do 32-35.
Friday:
Check homework, then a GCF/LCM challenge.
7th Grade Math
Monday:
Day off. ☺
Tuesday:
(Period 2)
Section 3-8: Solving a harder problem by solving a similar simpler problem
first. ☺
Pages 164-165 in text.
(Period 8)
Refreshing your "re-memories" on working with formulas and the metric system.
Wednesday:
Period 8 only due to the mass schedule. You'll be doing what period 2 did on
Monday.
Thursday:
Review of Chapter 3 material in preparation for a Friday quiz. Realize that we
only did 3-4, 3-7, and 3-8.
Friday:
A nice, simple quiz on our selected sections of Chapter 3. If nothing (else)
goes wrong, a study guide should be up sometime Wednesday evening.
8th Grade Math
Monday:
Period 3:
Day off.
Period 4:

Solving multi-step inequalities. Just like solving equations with one extra
rule to keep in mind.

A little review and some extended exploration of inequalities with absolute
values.
