If there are signature forms that will be collected please hold onto the forms until asked by the teacher to turn them in. This includes homework sheets, reading logs, field trip forms, etc…

5.      Occasionally there will be information about the day’s events on the board; students are to check the board each morning upon arrival to see if any information is present.

6.      When a student arrives after 8:00 am he or she is considered late. Before entering the classroom he or she must have a late slip from the office. Any student who arrives after 11:00 am will be considered absent for ½ the day. Being late can cause a student to become behind in their studies. Please make sure students are not late.

7.      The closet is to be kept neat and orderly throughout the day. No backpacks, coats, sweatshirts, hats, departmental bags, or lunch boxes should be on the floor. Please use the hooks and shelves to place all materials. Anything left on the floor is subject to being confiscated or thrown away.

Mass

Every Friday the seventh and eighth grade will go to Mass together. Students are to be in school no later than 7:50 am on Fridays for 8:00 Mass. If a student should arrive at school between 7:50 and 8:00 he or she is to leave their bags in the science lab and come directly to church. Students who arrive after 8:00 am and are receiving a late slip should remain the office until the class returns to the school. If a student is found anywhere but the office or church on a Friday morning he or she is considered out of bounds and will receive demerits for the offense.

Snack/Lunch

Students are not permitted to bring lunch boxes to their other classes for snack. Snack should be separate and should accompany the student to their class. The morning snack should be something small, like pretzels or chips. Lunch boxes are to stay in the closet until lunch.

Students will return to the classroom prior to lunch. They will be required to put away their books, get their lunches, and pray before leaving to go the lunch room. Students are to come into the room and quietly complete the tasks, then sit quietly so we can pray as a class.

Dismissal

At the end of most days students will be given 10 minutes to begin their homework. They should also use this time to collect the books from their desks that they want and need to take home with them. At 2:20, students will begin packing up their stuff to go home. Students should do this quietly. Once a student is packed they are to sit at their desks and read or study. Prayer is at 2:25. Students will be expected to pray silently at their desks. If they have not finished packing up their belongings they are to stop what they are doing immediately and stand quietly where they are to pray. After prayers students are to sit quietly at their seats reading or studying, waiting for their line to be called. When their line is called students are to go directly to their lines. If a student is found anywhere beside their line at dismissal they will receive demerits for being out of bounds; unless they have been given permission by their homeroom teacher.
