Please read at home the PHONICS READERS (one story you will make up using the illustrations/ the other story please read and point to each word with your child, using the sight words we have had up until this point in the year. Make sure your child gets familiar with these words, he/she can spell it and/or recognize it)

I’VE SEEN MANY PARENTS TRYING TO PRETEND THEIR CHILD WROTE THE WORDS AND I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE J IF YOUR CHILD IS HAVING TROUBLE YOU MAY WRITE THE WORD ON ANOTHER PAPER AND HAVE THEM COPY IT ONTO THEIR HOMEWORK. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE GIVING YOU THE ANSWERS. IF THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THAT PLEASE TAKE SOME EXTRA TIME TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND. Thank you for your cooperation.
In your red bookthis week we will start practicing how to write the letter of the week PROPERLY usingthe correct lines. 3xs each This is dueback the following day. We will practiceCapital on Monday, Lowercase on Tuesday, Capital on Wednesday and Lowercase again on Thursday J
The homework packet contains 2 pages of the letter/sound of the week practice for phonics and 3 pages which will correspond with the work we do in school and the story we read at school. The children will have to tell you about the story we read in school and the homework shouldbe done according to that information they tell you.The phonicsreaders are the two “booklets” that were sent home. These can stay home and not be returned back to school. This is for you and your child to read at home while he/she points to the word and begins to read
First in Math program usernames and passwords were sent out at back to school night. I hope that everyonehas had the opportunity to sign on and at least preview the website www.firstinmath.com . I have seenmany of my students earning stickers. Keep up the good work!
