Please make sure that the children wear sneakers or sturdy sandals never flip flops! We go outside for recess on nice days and the children love to run.
SFA Carnival opens on Tuesday, May 8th and runs through Saturday, May 12th!
No School on Friday, May 11th- enjoy your day off.
On Wednesday, May 1st the children said goodbye to Miss Adams. She is a sophomore student from Cabrini College. We gave Miss Adams a St. Francis of Assisi shirt and some school supplies. We had some special treats and gave her lots of hugs. We wish Miss Adams lots of luck in school and we'll miss her presence.
Homework
Occasionally, you may see a paper marked with a HW for Homework. Please work with your child to complete these papers and send them back to school by the end of the week. By reinforcing the skills we work on in school your child will become confident and a successful student. Please have them practice cutting, coloring and writing their name with a capital at the beginning and then lower case letters.Don't forget to read to your child. Thanks.
As always please have your child practice putting on their coats and buttoning their pants. Mrs. Santangelo and I have noticed that more children are becoming much more independent. Thank you!
Classroom News
Don't forget to sign up for SFA's Muffins for Mom.
We are busy practicing for the Spring Concert which will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012. We'll be singing On the Way to Cape May and Under the Boardwalk. The children should wear summertime clothes. Colorful sunglasses have already been purchased for all of the kids to wear for the show. Hope to see you all there!
Parents- please sign your child's report card and return ASAP . The envelopes will be collected and used again for next semester.
Students should remember to bring both a snack and a lunch everyday. Thanks so much for putting all snacks in a separate bag labeled with your child"s name . This has really made snack time much easier. Please do not send in juice cups because they are frequently spilled ( juice boxes work best). There is a free breakfast program as well as a hot lunch program at school. Look for envelopes in your child's folder. Please fill out the envelopes and return to school ASAP.
We have 14 boys and 13 girls for a total of 27 children. Please realize that we cannot send home any party invitations unless all of the children in the class are invited. If you prefer your child may choose to invite all the boys if you have a son or all the girls if you have a daughter. Thanks for your understanding on this matter.
Please remember to send in your child's activity fee $ 60.00 and lunch fee $45.00 ASAP. Also, forms were sent home in Friday folders that need to be filled out and returned to the office ASAP. This fee was due on Dec. 2,2011. Thank you for your help.
