There are three factors that make Saint Pius X School, as a Catholic school
different: SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, DISCIPLINED
ENVIRONMENT.
The SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT of our students is most important. We encourage
our students to proclaim the Gospel message - love God, love your neighbor.
We strive to develop a faith community where our children express care and
concern for others and to render service to the people of God. Prayer and
their relationship with God becomes evident through the actions of our
students.
We strive for ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE by consistently reinforcing the basic
skills of reading, language arts, and mathematics. Students are encouraged
to use higher level thinking skills as they progress through the grades to
further master basic skills taught in the earlier grades. Our curriculum
follows the Archdiocesan Guidelines as well as the academic standards
provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This ensures a spiral
progression through the grades.
We foster a DISCIPLINED ENVIRONMENT. Students are taught the difference
between right and wrong. We realize that no child is perfect and that they
will not always make the best choices in life. Consequently, they are
taught to accept responsibility for their actions should they make the wrong
decisions. Students are guided to become their best possible selves.
