Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a great 4 day weekend! I cannot believe there is only three weeks left of school. I have no idea where the time went!
Today I will be giving out your child's part in the end of the year play. The part however will not go home until tomorrow. The part is to stay at home and they are to practice the part every night so they have it memorized for the play.
The end of the year play is June 8th at 1:00 in the basement of the church!
Also, field day is Friday. It is a noon dismissal with CARES. I have not received the list of which team your child will be on, as soon as I do I will pass it on to you. For Friday all the kids need is a water bottle with their name on it. They will be responsible for caring the water bottle. Also, the children are to wear their gym uniform shorts and then whatever color team they are as the t-shirt. The children will receive a snack from the school on field day. It is a water ice and a pretzel.
This week we are learning the letter "B." The story this week is " Homes around the World." The Amazing Words are: home, roof, tools, apartment, city, country
In math this week we will be adding money using the coins.

Good Afternoon! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!!
This week is a short week. The children are off Thursday and Friday.
Today I am sending home their benchmarks for you to sign and return tomorrow. Thank you.
This week we are learning the letter "Qq." It is the same story as last week with the same Amazing words. They are listed below.
In math we are still working on money and fair trade with amounts of money.

This week we are having a wedding for the letter "Q" and "U." The girls are the letter "U" and the boys are the letter "Q." "Q" and "U" are getting married because every word that starts with the letter "Q," "U" is right next to it!

Good Afternoon!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!! We are pulling for the Flyers tonight!
Wednesday is our field trip to the Please Touch Museum!! We are very excited!
We will be eating lunch down there, so your child needs to have a lunch. We cannot have glass or cans. Each child needs to wear their gym uniform on Wednesday. If you are going with us on the trip please be at school by 8:20. We are leaving at 8:30! We will be returning back to school by 2:30
Also, for Wednesday the children DO NOT have to bring their bookbags to school on Wednesday.
This week we are learning the letter "Y." Our story this week is "This is the Way We Go to School." The Amazing Words for the story are: cable car, trolley, horse-and-buggy, skis, metro line, vaporetto. We will also be starting the Unit 5 benchmark this week. I am hoping to finishing by next week so I will be sending it home next week.
Math: the children are bring introduced to the quarter and the dime this week.

Math workbook- pgs. 98-102. Some of the children have a few more pages because last weeks' were not completed of they are a few pages behind. If this is your child you do not have to return the book tomorrow you can take a few extra days.

Good Afternoon!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Today we are proud hens and roosters to 9 chicks!! Two are starting to hatch and one is slow to hatch! We were able to see a few chicks actually hatch out of the eggs today!! It was great!!
EGYPITAN PARADE - THIS THURSDAY at 11:00. ALL ARE WELCOME!!
Your child must have a custome. The custome consists of a pillow case with three holes cut out. One for the head, and one for each arm. On Thursday your child must bring the custome along with a stuffed animal wrapped in toliet paper ans sandals. If your child does not have sandlas flip-flops are fine.
The parade will be out back around the playground! When you leave after the parade please take your child's items. They made items in art class to go with the custome! Thanks.
This week we are learning the letter "Z." The story for the letter "Z" is the same as last week. The mazing words are the same as well. If you scroll down you will be able to locate them.
In math we are finishing the chapter on subtraction and will be starting money towards the middle of the week.
In the morning we will be praying the rosary. If you have a set at home please send them in. We will be using them everyday until the end of May, so we will be keeping them in school. Thank you!
Under the homework tab will be the complete list of sight words that the children will be assessed on in a few weeks.

Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
There are a few things that are coming up in the next month that I wanted to let you.
Thursday - May 3rd at 11:00 will be the kindergarten Egyptian Parade. Weather permitting the parade will be out back around the playground. For the parade each child needs a costume. The costume is a white pillow case. The pillow case needs three holes in it. One at the top for their head and one on each side for their arms. Also for their costume they will need a piece of rope to tie around their waist. The day of the parade they will bring the costume along with sandals to wear on their feet. Also, the day of the parade they need to wrap a SMALL stuffed animal in toliet paper to be the mummy for their parade. Everything else for the parade the children made in ART class!
Class Trip is May 9th - the children will need to bring a lunch in a disposable bag for the trip. They also may not have glass bottles or cans.
May 30th - We will be decorating t-shirts for the end of the year play. The homeroom moms will be sending an e-mail out about this later in the week or next week for volunteers.
June 8th is the kindergarten's last day. It is a full day with their play and refreshments starting at 1:00 in the basement of the church. We will be in contact with you regarding refreshments in a few weeks. Everyone is welcome to attend and the children will be dismissed with you from the basement of the church.
PRETZEL MONEY - DUE APril 30th
This will be the last pretzel order for the year it will for all of May and til June 8th.

This week we will be learning the letter "V." The Amazing story this week is "On the Move." The Amazing words for the story are: travel, kayak, llama, dogsled, submarine, double-decker bus.
Thank you to Mr. Lemheney and Mrs. Lemheney!! Today Mr. Lehemeny taught the childre about the parts of the flower, germination, and what seeds need to grow. He did three planting experiments with the class. We have a watermelon seed germinating, the children als planted marigold seeds and grass seeds. We are going to watch the grow.
Also, all 5 butterflies have hatched and we will be releasing them into God's world on Friday. Tomorrow we will become hens and roosters as 12 eggs will be delivered to the classroom. Also, this week the children will be making volcanos for "V" week.

Monday - Simple Solutions - The next four lessons. I did tell the class our goal it to finish the book by June. If you would like to do more lessons that is fine.

GOOD AFTERNOON!
TODAY MRS. EGAN ANNOUNCED THAT PICTURE WILL NOT BE ON MONDAY. IT IS BEING MOVED TO FRIDAY OF NEXT WEEK.
Also, we had three butterflies hatch today!!! They hatched during the day!! We have two more to go!

Good Morning!
I hope everyone is enjoying their day!! It was great to see everyone on Saturday night!! I have some good news all 5 caterpillars have changed into their chrysalis form and are hanging in the garden. I have fruit for them if they hatch over night!!
Tomorrow is a dress down day for Catholic Charities, so a small donation is needed.
This week we are continuing with the letter "U." The story is still "Messenger, Messenger."
The Amazing words are: messenger, eyeshades, pickup, delivery, escalator.
In math we will be completing the chapter test for adding and moving into subtraction.
Also, this Monday coming is class picture day. The children wear their uniforms. There should be an envelope that will come home this week to purchase the class picture.

For their sharing bags they can also do items that have the "u" sound in the middle.

I hope everyone had a great Easter Vacation!!
Over the Easter Break our surprise arrived. We had 5 caterpillars delivered on Thursday over break. We are going to be watching and recording the changes of the life cycle of the butterfly over the next few weeks.
Tomorrow the children will be visiting the class basket at 11:00. If you wish for your child to buy tickets to place in the baskets that they like please send in money tomorrow in an envelope with your child's name on it. The tickets are 3 for $5 and 6 for $10. If you have address labels at home and can send them in, that would be helpful for the tickets.
Also, Thursday we are having a Auction dress down day! The theme for the Auction is Hawaii so the children have to dress in Hawaii theme or beach theme. There is no donation for this dress down day.
Thursday is also a half day and the children will be dismissed at NOON! For the children that attend CARES we will have CARES on this day. If you decide to send your child this day they will need a lunch.
This week and next week we are learning the letter "U." Our story for this week and next week is " Messenger, Messenger." The Amazing Words for the story are: messenger, delivery, radios, pickup, escalator, eyeshades.
In the math we are going to continue with adding. We will be working on vertical adding.
