For the Week of November 16
Thank you Mrs. Petticord, a dietician, for reviewing the rainbow of colors we
need to eat at each meal every day and playing a fun bingo game of 'healthy
food' and exercise.
Thank you Dr. Duffy, a pediatric surgeon, for letting us meet Stuffee and
sharing your job with us. We really had fun learning!
Our class needs to bring in stuffing mix for our school stewardship
activity. All donations are due by Thursday, Nov. 19. Thank you for being
so generous!
We will have our Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday during lunch.
What we will learn this week:
Religion
This week we will read and discuss Chapter 7, Ordinary Time. Father Reilly
will be our guest to show the differnt colored vestments. We will review for
our test and complete our Promise magazine.
Math
We will discuss the relationship between addition and subtraction, use
related facts to check subtraction, identify addition and subtraction facts
to 12 in a fact family, use subtraction facts to find the missing addend, and
use subtraction to compare sets.
ILA
We will review for our Unit 2 test and begin Unit 3, "Let's Learn Together."
This week the Phonics story is "The Big Mess" and the Main Selection is "The
Little Red Hen".
The skills we will be working on this week are: compare and contrast, nouns
that name people, places, things and animals, and decoding words with short
e, and double final consonants.
