Directions:
1. Restate the problem in your own words (in summary form).
2. Choose a strategy to help you solve the problem (guess and test, chart, working backwards,
solving
a simpler problem...)
3. Complete the problem showing all the steps of your work.
4. Explain in complete sentences HOW you solved the problem and WHY you did what you did.
5. Evaluate the problem. Discuss your reactions to it. Examples of what you might discuss are, What
did you learn from the problem?, Was the the problem too easy or too difficult? Why?, How would
you
change the problem to make it better?

6th Grade performance Task
Two[thirds of the people working at Happy Homes Realty are sales agents and the rest are clerical
employees. If five-eighths of the agents are women and four-sevenths of the clerical employees are
men, find the fraction of the people in the office who are male agents, female agents, male clerical
employees, and female clerical employees.
a. Make a chart to show your results
b. If there are 21 male sales agents, find how many people are employed all together and how many
people are in each category.
