                                                Home Sweet Homework!

Homework is to be completed each night and returned to school the following day. Homework
should
be completed by students independently, parents or siblings may have to help in the beginning
months
of first grade. Students should complete their homework in a quiet peaceful room with little or no
distractions. Some fun ideas include a homework fort, a special tent just for homework, or a
designed
homework area! On an average night first grade homework should take no more than thirty minutes
to
complete. In addition to written homework, students should be reading or read to for at least ten
minutes each day.

                                                       Parent Involvement

Some activities and games I send home are designed to be done with family members. Take this time
to
have fun and enjoy hands on activities with your children. Always check that your child's homework is
completed. Sign and date each assignment so we can work as a team in the success and growth of
your
child.

                                                     HOMEWORK WILL BEGIN IN OCTOBER
