May a student do extra credit in the Seventh Grade?
During the Second Trimester, a student may earn up to 12 points in each of the subjects. Each student was given a set of directions that was to be taped into the homework book. One change was made: Instead of bringing in articles about our CURRENT topic only, the student may bring in any article that directly relates to the Seventh Grade curriculum.Back to Top

On what are grades based?
The academic side of the report card gives the average of all the actual work done by the student, including homework. The behavior/effort side is based on what is observed in class: class participation (not just raising the hand to read or go to the board); completing seatwork from start to finish-- and doing it to the best of one's ability; interacting in a positive way with classmates and teachers; showing responsibility for one's actions and one's work. These and other factors go into the day-to-day observations. Keep in mind that a variety of people also "observe", from volunteers in the school, guests to the classroom, etc. While these people may not have input with regard to the report card, they do form a favorable impression of our students when they see and hear good manners and eager learning taking place!Back to Top
