1.- Please make sure your child comes to class on the first day with the
needed stationery supplies. I will be collecting their compasses and
protractors for later use. They will be setting up their subject and
homework copybooks.
2. All students should wear the school uniform with pride. Please make sure
your child is abiding by the uniform code as stated in the handbook.
3. Grade 7 students will be given directions to earn extra credit for each
subject during the year. Please check their homework copybooks
where the directions will be taped.
4. I inform the students at least one week in advance when they
will have a test in a particular subject. This is to provide ample time to
do serious and varied study for the test. It is painfully obvious during
test review prior to the day of the test that many students are cramming the
night before. This is a major reason why information is not retained.
Please encourage your child to study smaller bits of information MORE
OFTEN.
Also, it helps if they study in a variety of ways. Students will learn a
selection of study methods as the year progresses. This includes the use of
graphic organizers, making color-coded flash cards, creating mnemonic
devices, etc.
