Please read 4 books listed below over the summer with your child, every child is expected to
read the books pre-selected and complete a project for 1 of the books that your child enjoyed
reading. The project will be handed in on the first full Monday of the school year, September
8th, and will provide the first reading grade for the year.

1. Choose 1 of the 4 books read.
2. Use either a piece of poster board or construction paper 9x12 in size. (White color board or
construction paper only)
3. Write the Title of the book, Author and Illustrator's name at the top of the board or paper.
(Your child is to write this)
4. Divide the board or paper into 3 sections leaving enough room for your child to draw and
write in each section. The sections are to be labeled; Beginning, Middle and End.
5. Draw a picture from the book that depicts something that happens in the beginning, middle and
end of the story. Color all pictures.
