2. Spelling stockings: The children print a letter (uppercase and lowercase) on one stocking. They have to think of a word that begins with that letter. They draw a picture. The children have to try to spell the word by themselves. The teacher corrects the word. The children rewrite the word and decorate the stocking.

3. Paper chains: The children will be given a set of pictures. They will have to spell the word that names each picture. Each letter of the word will be printed on one link of the chain. b. Number review: The children will choose a number between 9& 14. They will have to write that number on the paper candy cane. They will have to cut and attach the correct number of stripes for each numeral.

4. Short i sound: The children are working on sounding out words that have the short i sound in the beginning or middle of the word: in, is, if, pig, big, dig, fig, wig, win, pin, tin, chin, thin, pit, sit, lit, fit, etc.

5. The children are learning the names of the parts of plants. They are learning about the functions of the various parts. They have to draw the plant and label the various parts. We are currently learning about flowers.
