In this past week, we discussed what a farmer was and the kind of animals that live on a farm. We read a story called
The Farmer's Hat. We sang songs and played games related to farm animals. The children really enjoyed using their sense of hearing to identify animals by their sound. This week will be beach and ocean animals week. We will read
Rainbow Fish and make our own beautiful rainbow fish. We'll play games and make crafts related to the beach.
Wednesday will be our very last Show and Tell.
Just a few notes about the last week of school:
- There will be school on Monday June 4th, Tuesday June 5th, and Wednesday June 6th
- Monday is entirely optional. I wanted to offer that option because I am unable to be here on Thursday and of course want to be with the children on the last day of school.
- We will have fun outside activities on Tuesday (weather permitting; sunscreen may be a very good idea).
- Wednesday there will be a little end of the year party for the children, and an end of the year program for the parents. It will be held at 11am.
At this time it will be in the Wright Center next to our classroom. I will let you know as soon as the location is confirmed
Have a wonderful weekend!

This past week was spent learning about ladybugs. We read a book by Eric Carle called "The Grouchy Ladybug". Ask your child if the grouchy ladybug learned how to share. We learned why ladybugs are good for plants. They eat little green insects called aphids off of leaves. The aphids suck the juice from the leaves of a plant and then the leaves die. Interesting, isn't it?
This week will be spent learning about farm animals. We will be discussing what a farmer does and the kinds of animals that live on a farm. Of course we'll be singing Old MacDonald and the Farmer In the Dell also!!
Show and Tell on Wed.
As always, I can't wait to see your beautiful children on Tues.

There will be a Fun Fair on May 24th run by the 8th grade with face painting and games and lots of other fun things. The preschool children are also invited to attend but, again, must be with a parent. It begins at 12:00. The cost is $5.00 to participate in everything. I believe it is to help defray the cost of graduation. It sounds like a lot of fun!
There are no scheduled conferences for our class, however, I am more than happy to meet with anyone that would like to discuss anything regarding your children from now until the last week of school. You can send me an e-mail or a note and we will schedule a time to meet.
This is a very important change in the school calendar for June. The last day of school for the preschool 3 class, my class, will be Wed. June 7th.The children can come that week on Mon., Tues., and Wed.. I am telling you now so you can plan accordingly for that time. I hope this doesn't provide a hardship on anyone.
Thank you.
