May 24th is a student holiday. We have received special permission to be excused from making that day up as a Hurricane Day due to our Middle States project. Our teachers will be using that day to work on Middle States.

It is hard to believe that we are entering into the home stretch of our school year. Thank you for all of your support of St. Bernadette’s School.
May 24th – There will be no school for students on May 24th. The teachers will be working on our Middle States project.

The Archdiocese has organized five locations and dates for elementary schools to participate in this first-ever display of the arts. Saint Bernadette School will participate with a display of art work on Tuesday, May 14that Saint Anastasia School, 3309 West Chester Pike, in Newtown Square. The Fine Arts Festival will be open for viewing from 5:30 until 8:00 pm. Please join us to celebrate the fine arts in our elementary schools!
CLASS OF 2013 -
May 13th-May 19th - Fundraising Event at Tony Roni's in Pilgrim Gardens! Just mention St. Bernadette Class of 2013 on any pick up, dine-in or delivery order and we will receive 10% of the week's total. All proceeds will be used to help defer the cost of graduation events. Thank you for your support!
May 18th 9am-1pm 8th Grade Car Wash. Come out and support the Class of 2013 and let us make your car sparkle!
Rain Date will be June 1st.
"BEGINNING OF THE SUMMER PARISH PARTY"
Volunteers are needed to the run the tables and games for the children on May 24th. There are many fun activities planned, including a bounce house, a dunk tank, crafts and face painting. If you or your family members are available to help with these tables and games for the children, please contact Marykate Murphy at 610-789-7676 ext. 212. Thank you in advance!
Congratulations - Terrance Greene and Jake Nicastro were the Regional Champions in the 400 meters and 1600 meters, respectively. The following runners qualified for the Area D Championship meet at Widener University on Sunday, May 19, 2013: Tiana Jackson in the Novice 100 and long jump; Terrance Greene in the Cadet 100, 200 and 400; Hunter Ragin in the Cadet 400; and Jake Nicastro in the Minor 800 and 1600.
May Open Forum – The May Open Forum has been canceled. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Information regarding our school Terra Nova reports will be communicated via email. Individual student results will be sent home later this month.
Preschool Financial Aid – Our school has been awarded $10,000 in EITC scholarship money through the Bravo Foundation. All of this scholarship money must go towards preschool. Anyone interested in applying for this financial aid needs to contact me directly for an application. You must adhere to the May 17th deadline in order to be considered.
Special Lunch– The May/June Home and School Special Lunch order form is attached.
Spring Concert- As you may know students in the third, fourth, and fifth grade have been practicing hard for their spring show, which will take place on Wednesday, May 15th in O’Brien Hall at 7pm. The theme of this years show is the music of the 1950s. In order for us to look our best, I ask that your child dress in something that reflects the time period, however, please do not feel obligated to buy anything. Boys and girls may also wear jeans with a solid colored t-shirt and sneakers. I ask that your children be in O’Brien Hall and ready to go by 6:45to give of plenty of time to get lined up and ready to rock you into summer! Thank you so much for your cooperation. Ms. Zimmerman
