Students in grades K-7 attend Instructional Technology Classes weekly and develop skills which will be used in their everyday lives.

Eighth Grade students attend Instructional technology class five days a week for a semester.  The second semester is spent attending either Latin or Spanish Classes.    There, they are strengthening their Microsoft Office application skills and web 2.0 tools

All students sign an Internet Acceptable Use Policy and participate in the Netsmartz, Cybersafe and Common Sense Media Programs for Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship.

Most Junior High classes are project based learning in conjunction with all subject areas.  Parents and students are able to monitor student's progress through RVS Grade Book, and Accelerated Reader Dashboard.  They can  also access assignments and upcoming events through individual teacher websites.

All classrooms are equipped with one computer for teacher adminstrative/instructional use and at least two computers for student use.  Many classrooms are equipped with smartboards and projectors to enable hands on lessons and utilize all media services.   Teachers also have access to digital still and digital video cameras, an Intel e-reader, Smart Document cameras, airslate, and student response devices.

Please make sure you register your Giant Eagle Card so our school can benefit from the "Apples for Students program".  We were able to purchase 5 flat screen monitors and some playground equipment with our Giant Eagle points last April.  Thanks for everyone who registered and shopped at Giant Eagle.
