A.R. Test
Students should take an A.R. test for this month's "book report." The book
must be A.R. Level 5.5+. (If the student fails to follow the directions,
he/she will lose points.) The book does NOT have to be a Newbery
Medal/Newbery Honor. The test must be taken on a current book that the
student read, not a book from last year. Students can read multiple books
and take multiple tests and turn in their best score, if desired. After the
test is taken, students should print out their results and turn the paper in
to receive credit. This "book report" can be turned in early, but the grade
will not be applied until December 22nd.
I selected this type of report for several reasons. First, the students are
aware early enough and have 3 weeks to complete the assignment. Second, I
thought it would be easier to combine the A.R. test requirement and book
report requirement for this month, rather than assigning both. If you have
