Dear Parents,
If you signed up for the flu vaccine and your child is medically qualified to
receive it, know that we will be administering it on Thursday, November 12th.
We know that many of you need to know that date because you want to or have
had your children get the seasonal flu vaccine and need that window of time
in between. The vaccines will be delivered to school between 9 and 9:30 and
we will work our way up through the grades as soon as we are set up. Parents
are welcome to be present but we can't name a specific timeframe. Pre-K
parents definitely need to be present for their children to receive the
vaccine. We will ge through this!
Up to now, students have been sitting and talking for 6-7-8 grade lunch
recess. As of last Friday, they are standing and talking for recess. If they
include walking, they'll log in some pedometer steps which is great. We don't
want football, freedom, tag, or the like though as they inevitably lead to a
plethora of injuries.
We found out at the end of the day on Monday, Oct. 19th that Mr. Arrighetta
would be leaving as of that Friday Yikes! He was asked to take a 5th Gr.
position in a Delaware County public school and because of the salary
increase didn't want to turn it down. We hopefully now have a long-term sub,
Mrs. Patrice Croft, in there for the year. Besides having Level II
certification, Mrs. Croft also has her Masters in reading.
Life is moving forward though--Student Council had an officers meeting today
in preparation for the overall meeting with class reps tomorrow. The reps
were installed at mass this past First Friday. The council will be busy this
year looking at how they can be of service with the environment, Jeremiah,
and, yes, even H1N1. They are going to maintain and update posters around
school.
Bless you all, Mrs. Kilbride
