EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY WHERE YOU NEED TO PICK-UP YOUR CHILD:
„« Come to the main office and give the office staff your name and
remain in the lobby
„« Office personnel will contact your childˇ¦s homeroom and have the
child come to the office
„« Emergency numbers which you have provided will be used to make
contact
IN CASE OF A LOCK DOWN (Biological or Chemical incident))
ALSO SHELTER IN PLACE„« No one would be permitted to enter or exit the
building as opening doors could jeopardize the safety of the students and
school personnel
„« Pick-up would take place when the local authorities determine the
area to be safe
SHOULD THE NATURE OF THE CRISIS BE SUCH THAT THE CHILDREN WOULD NEED TO BE
MOVED FROM OUR SCHOOL TO ANOTHER FACILTY, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE RADIO/WATCH
TV TO LEARN DETAILS. PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE WITH COMLEY SCHOOL
AND OTHER NEARBY HIGH SCHOOLS. THE ONE TO BE USED WOULD BE DETERMINED BY
THE TYPE OF CRISIS TAKING PLACE.
Questions and comments may be addressed by note, phone, or e-mail to either
Mrs. Kilbride or Mrs. Tremper.

HARCOURT MATH is our new Math program in Kindergarten through grade 4.
Check out the Harcourt web site to see some great activities for your child
to try. (Go to http://www.harcourt.com then click on Math, etc.) If you are
asked for a password, just type in one of the author's name from your
child's Math book. So far the teachers and the students are enjoying the new
books and supplementary materials.

~October is Fire Prevention Month. My Dad was a Fire Chief by profession,
so this week is always a special one to me- because it is to him.
Following are a few good tips to go over with your children.
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
Here are some of the ABC's of fire safety:
Know how many smoke detectors are in your home
Have a fire escape plan and practice it often
Know two ways out of every room in your home
STOP, DROP, and ROLL if your clothes catch fire
Matches are NOT toys
Learn how to dial 911 to report a fire
Crawl low UNDER smoke to get out in a fire
Keep away from hot things that can burn you
Unplug small appliances when not in use, and,
Visit a fire station to learn how firefighters HELP YOU!!!!
