The response for chaperones for our Babes in Toyland trip was overwhelming.
I picked 6 names at random from a container and notified those 6 parents that
they were chosen. Thank you to all who volunteered.
Since this week is so short, we will not have a new lesson in Religion, but
rather concentrate on the things for which we are thankful.
We will have our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 25. The children
will bake corn muffins, toss a fruit salad, and make butter from heavy
cream. We will also be serving popcorn and juice. Food and costumes will be
provided. It will not be necessary to bring a snack on Wednesday.
As I count my many blessings on Thanksgiving Day, your children will
certainly be among them. They truly are a gift, and I am grateful to have
the opportunity to play such an important role in their lives. Enjoy your
holiday.
As per the notice you received in your plastic communication envelope, St.
Christopher School is holding a Holiday Food Drive for those in need. The
Kindergarten children are asked to bring in canned vegetables. Please send
them to school whenever you have them. Thank you in advance for your
generosity and also for being an example to your children by showing them
the importance of reaching out to those less fortunate.
Our Math and ILA books have finally arrived!! I have torn out the pages and
will send them home as single sheets, however, since the children do not have
desks in which to store their books. You will find them to be colorful and
much more kid-friendly than the blacklines they have been bringing home.
In addition to bringing their FILLED water bottles on Gym days, Mrs.
Giammaruti has asked that, for safety reasons, the girls NOT wear earrings on
Gym days. If your daughter has starter posts that cannot be removed, please
cover them up with band-aids. She also asks that girls with long hair
wear a pony tail on Gym days. Thank you.
Any child who goes out in the Walker line should be doing just that, walking
home from school. If you are picking your child up in a car, please use the
car line. Thank you.
Pretzel Money for the week of November 30 is due on Wednesday, November 25.
Cost is $1.00. It is not necessary to put your child's pretzel money in an
envelope. I collect this as soon as the children arrive. I feel that I am
just throwing your envelopes away and it is a waste. Thank you.
