Please do not attach any candy to the Christmas cards that your children
bring in for their friends. Our mailboxes are part of our Hallway Display
and will be sitting on the floor. We do not want to attract any unwanted
visitors. Remember that names should be printed on the envelopes as the
children themselves will place them in each mailbox by either reading their
friends' names or matching them with the name above each mailbox.
Thank you.
Friday, December 11 is our annual Children's Christmas Bazaar. The children
will have the opportunity to go over to Trainer Hall to purchase gifts for
their families. There will also be games for them to play and of course, a
chance to visit with Santa. Please place your child's money in a zip-lock
bag and also send in a bag with handles to enable an easy transport of your
chld's treasures from Trainer Hall back to school and then from our classroom
to home at dismissal. Older students will accompany the Kindergarten
children to help with their purchases. I will instruct the sixth graders
that the little ones are not to play any games or buy anything to eat until
they have bought for all the people on their list. The children may wear
something "Christmas-y" with their school pants on Friday--a Christmas
sweatshirt, red turtleneck, Santa hat, reindeer antlers, Christmas socks,
etc. Tis the season......
The children will be bringing home a form on which to write a Santa letter.
Macy's will donate $1.00 to the Make a Wish Foundation for every letter they
receive. Please send your completed letters to school by Wednesday,
December 9. Matthew's mother will deliver them to Macy's for us.
Thank you.
The Pauline Shop located in the shopping center at Welsh Road and the
Boulevard is hosting a Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus party on Friday,
December 11 from 4:00-7:00 PM, and on Saturday, December 12 from 11:00 AM to
4:00 PM. The party features picture-taking at the manger (costumes
provided), storytelling, birthday cake, balloons, coloring, and fun. This is
a great opportunity for the children to experience the true meaning of
Christmas.
The response for chaperones for our Babes in Toyland trip was overwhelming.
I picked 6 names at random from a container and notified those 6 parents that
they were chosen. Thank you to all who volunteered.
In addition to bringing their FILLED water bottles on Gym days, Mrs.
Giammaruti has asked that, for safety reasons, the girls NOT wear earrings on
Gym days. If your daughter has starter posts that cannot be removed, please
cover them up with band-aids. She also asks that girls with long hair
wear a pony tail on Gym days. Thank you.
Any child who goes out in the Walker line should be doing just that, walking
home from school. If you are picking your child up in a car, please use the
car line. Thank you.
Pretzel Money for the week of December 14 is due on Friday, December 11.
Cost is $1.00. It is not necessary to put your child's pretzel money in an
envelope. I collect this as soon as the children arrive. I feel that I am
just throwing your envelopes away and it is a waste. Thank you.
