MAY NEWS
Dear Parents,
May will be a busy month in Kindergarten. The children are anxiously
looking forward to our Mother's Day Prayer Service and Tea which will take
place on Wednesday, May 7 at 9:00 AM in Holy Family Hall. Please go
directly to the hall when you arrive on Wednesday. The children have made
placemats for you. Please find your child's name and take your seat. We
will process in together at 9:00. Mother's Day plants may be purchased on
Friday, May 9. Plants cost $1.00 each. Money should be placed in a ziploc
bag. Please send in a small bag with handles or a shoe box to enable an
easy transport of plants from the hall to our classroom and from our
classroom to your homes. We will honor Mary during our annual May
Procession on Monday, May 12. The Kindergarten children will sign (in
American Sign Language) the Hail Mary for the congregation at our May
Procession. Our Gym Show performance is on Thursday, May 22. Our trip to
the Philadelphia Zoo is scheduled for Friday, May 30. We are also getting
ready for our Closing Ceremony which will be held on Thursday, June 5. More
information will follow concerning this special day.
Our caterpillars have now transformed into beautiful butterflies. After we
have cared for them for a few days, we will release them outdoors. The
children have really enjoyed witnessing this wonder of nature. What a
beautiful tie in to the Resurrection of Our Lord and the new life of spring!
This is a time of mixed emotions for the children. Some of them wish that
their Kindergarten experience could last FOREVER while others are ready to
move on to First Grade. Please be sensitive to their needs and I will do
the same in school. Together we will make this transition a pleasant one.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rita DiCicco
