Ms. Mary Frances Paul, Music Teacher

I am happy to be here at St. Christopher School as I begin my eighteenth
year of teaching. Most of my teaching has been at the elementary level from
K to Eighth Grade at Epiphany of Our Lord School, Norristown; St. Stanislaus
School, Lansdale; St. Hilary of Poitiers in Rydal; and PreK to Third Grade
at The Episcopal Academy, Merion Campus. I am also the music director at
St.Anthony of Padua Parish in Ambler as cantor, organist, and choir
director. I received my certification and degree in Music Education from
Chestnut Hill College, and my Master of Music from Temple University.

As a music teacher, I have strived to be "the best that I can be" for your
children. My continuing education includes certification courses for the
Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly philosophies to foster music literacy skills and
creative performance options in the music classroom. My goal is to continue
these certification classes, and to delve into the world of music technology
as a learning tool for both student and teacher.

As a Catholic school educator, I have stressed the active role of your
child's formation in the importance of Children's Liturgies and Sacraments.
It is my goal to continue to teach your children to be active participants
in their school liturgical celebrations in bringing them closer to Lord in
their worship experiences.

Instituting a New Music Series - 'Making Music ' by Silver Burdett Publishing

The music program at St. Christopher school has been updated with the new
2005 music series Making Music for grades PreK-8. This includes 'Big Book'
texts for the lower grades(PreK-2), textbooks for grades 3-8, state of the
art CD recording for every grade, teaching supplements, and videos.

In this comprehensive series, the six elements of music: melody, rhythm,
harmony, form, texture, and tone color are taught with traditional folk
songs, seasonal and patriotic songs, multicultural music, and the styles of
classical music, modern music including jazz, contemporary classical works,
and popular rock'n'roll artists.

My mission is to explore music and its many facets with an open mind and
fresh approach and to have each student experience the joy that music can
bring to all.
