We are at the beginning of the Christmas season, of Advent, a time to
prepare our hearts for Jesus' Birthday!!It is a very hectic time for all; but
we try to keep focused on the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' Birthday!!!
Santa and the decorations are all around us; and it is a great time to enjoy
the children!!
In Religion, we will be learning about the people who came before Jesus, on
the Jesse Tree!! Each day we will learn about another person; the children
will have a sheet to color in the JMJ and we will learn the "symbol" for that
person to hang on our tree! After the holidays, we will get a mark for the
JMJ; also we will have a test on them.
In Math, we are testing this week on the adding/subtracting facts to 12! The
children are still using a number line(ruler); but it is important to drill
the facts, too. (Flash cards games are great here.
In Reading, we will be doing 'The Farmer and the Hat", the words are getting
harder; also with this story we start long a!!! Long a spelling patterns are
a-e,ai,ay. We learn that we do so many things together as a class!
This brings us to the Christmas pageant!!!! Last week, I gave the children
their parts!! By Next Wednesday, Dec. 9th,they MUST be MEMORIZED!!!!!!!!! We
practice in the room and also will be going to the gym. Costumes will come
home this week, with directions to have them washed and pressed and sent in by
Friday December 18TH!!!The Pageant is very beautiful and special!!! So I ask
your cooperation in this!! The pageant is Monday December 21st.10:00AM &
7:00PM. More specific direction about when/where to come that night will be
coming later!
The Santa letters, must come in by December 1st, so that I can "mail" them
and "Santa's helpers" will answer them.
As you can see we are very busy at this time of the year!! it is important
to remind your child to focus and listen to directions!! Thank you so much for
