CYO News

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and Parish Youth Ministry (PYM)

The CYO and PYM at St. Dominic have a long and proud tradition of offering many opportunities to its students. Membership is open to students primarily in grades 4-8 and CCD participants. The mission of CYO and PYM is:

  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today
  • To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community
  • To foster the total personal and spritual growth of each person

CYO and PYM sponsored activities include school dances, haunted hayride, Father/Daughter dance, Mother/Son bowling, and Road Rally just to name a few. In addition, the following sports are offered at St. Dominic:

  1. Soccer (boys and girls grades 2-8)
  2. Volleyball (girls grade 6-8)
  3. High School Co-Ed Volleyball (boys and girls grade 9-12)
  4. Basketball (boys and girls grade 5-8)
  5. High School Basketball (boys grade 9-12)
  6. Swimming (boys and girls grade K-9)
  7. Track (boys and girls grade 4-8)
  8. Baseball (boys grade 5-8)
  9. Softball (girls grade 5-8)
  10. Intramural Basketball (boys and girls grade 1-4)

The CYO Board for 2008-09 is:

  • Linda Conroy - President
  • Karen Cole - Vice President
  • Gina Kutchner - Treasurer
  • Kathy Ciliberti - Secretary
  • Rose Mallon - PYM Coordinator
  • Donna Natoli - PYM Assistant Coordinator
  • Ben Evans - Athletic Director
  • Brian Duffy - Assistant Athletic Director
  • Anita Lekic - Faculty Representative

Additional details regarding CYO or PYM will be provided through correspondence sent home with the children, announcements in the church bulletin, and during Back to School Night on September 11th. Also, questions can always be directed towards any board member.
