REPORT CARDS

Students received report cards for the first trimester today.  Parents may keep the report card, but must sign the envelope and return just the envelope to school by Friday, Dec. 18th. Be A Better Me Applications were given to Grades 4-8 today.

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

The Christmas Spirit is alive in the classrooms and halls of St. Eugene’s this week.  The teachers are working on many fun projects with the students, focusing on the reason we celebrate Christmas, our Savior’s birth.

One of the best parts about working with children is seeing their joy and excitement during this time of the year.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

We hope that you will join us tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Church for our annual Christmas Pageant.  Our Advanced Band and Children’s Choir will perform.  Then our Eighth Grade Students will present a beautiful telling of Our Lord’s birth.  We’ll end with singing Christmas Carols.  Please plan to come and find the true Christmas spirit!

CHRISTMAS PLAYS AND PAGEANT

Please try to join us for some special activities.  On Friday, our First and Second Graders will have Christmas plays and songs for parents in the hall at 9:00 a.m.

The Choir and Eighth Graders will have a repeat performance of their Christmas Pageant at 12:45 p.m. on Friday in church.  All are invited!

On Tuesday morning, our Kindergarteners will present a play about Jesus’ birth at 8:30 a.m.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION COFFEE

Tomorrow, Thursday, December 17th, we will have a special Christmas Thank You to all who help us throughout the year.  So many parents share their time and talents with us as our Home and School Board, Lunch Parents, Homeroom Parents, and those who help with Brown Folders, as well as Coordinators for Boxtops for Education, Campbell’s labels, Cartridge Recycling, and Acme receipts. We’ve also invited our bus drivers and crossing guards to attend.  These people are such an important part of our school that we would like to thank them in this special way with coffee, danish and Christmas entertainment from our children. Our Choir, Band and Recorder students will perform.  Our Kindergarten, First, Second and Fourth Graders will also provide entertainment with Christmas plays and songs.

DRESS DOWN DAY TOMORROW

All students may wear school appropriate red, white and green clothing to school tomorrow.

CANDLE DELIVERY TOMORROW

Candle orders will be delivered tomorrow. If you have any problems, please send a note to Mrs. Seeley Friday. Thanks for your support of this fundraiser!

H1N1 VACCINES

On Monday, Dec. 21st, several nurses will be here about 9:30 a.m. to give the H1N1 flu shots to those who returned their forms by yesterday.  Only those who returned the consent form by yesterday will be able to receive the vaccine.  Parents may come to be with their child, but you must call to find out what time your child’s class will receive the vaccine.

STUDENTS SHARING TIME AND TALENT

Our boys and girls were very generous to our Santa for A Senior Project this month.  Each grade collected more than enough money to buy requested gifts for their Senior Citizen from the Home Instead Project.  We had money left over, which we gave to our St. Vincent de Paul Society to help parish families with Christmas gifts.

On Monday, our Eighth Graders will visit Women of Hope Hospice to deliver the many toiletries you sent in.  We also purchase new towels and wash clothes each year to give to the residents for Christmas.  Thank you for your tremendous support to help others.

FACULTY CHRISTMAS LUNCH

On Monday, Dec. 21st, we will have a special lunch for our wonderful faculty.  So that teachers may have a little extra time for lunch, I would like to have extra lunch parents on Monday.  Students will eat and then stay inside for recess, so I would like to have two parents watch each classroom.  If you can help with lunch on Monday from 12:00-1:00 p.m., please call Mrs. Seeley.  Thanks so much for your help!

FACULTY CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Thank you for all who have already sent in their money for the gifts for their teachers.  If you forgot, please send in $3.00/child by this Friday.  Thank you!

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

On Wednesday, December 23rd. many classes will have small class Christmas Parties.  Kindergarten, First and Second Graders will have a “Polar Express” party and wear their pajamas to school!

Please remember we will dismiss at 11:30 for the Christmas holidays.  There will be no CARES Program on Wednesday.

JANUARY CALENDAR

The calendar for January 2010 is in today’s folder.  Please note that we return form Christmas vacation on Monday, January 4, 2010.  We will have an 11:30 dismissal on Friday, January 8th, for a Faculty Meeting.

No brown folders will be sent home next week.

OUR CHRISTMAS WISH FOR YOU

On behalf of all of our faculty and staff, I would like to wish you and your families a very happy, peace-filled Christmas.  Enjoy time together and have some fun!  Please travel safely and be careful!  We’ll see you all back at school on January 4, 2010!  God bless you all!
