First in Math Program

This year our students will continue to participate in an online Math program, First in Math, to practice their math skills. Students earn "stickers" for winning/completing games. We have competitions in our school and classrooms to encourage student use of this great program. I am pleased to report that last year, we are ranked #43 in the United States and #10 for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!! Great job teachers, boys and girls and parents!!

TECHNOLOGY NEWS!

Last year, St. Eugene School was named as a "Pilot School" for Kindergarten iPad's!! We received 25 iPad 2's for the children to use on a daily basis. We are now a Demonstration School, where teachers from around the Archdiocese come to see our littlest learners have fun while reinforcing their skills on the iPads.
This summer three of our teachers attended a three-day work shop on using iPads in the classroom. They are excited to share all they have learned with their students.

Middle States Six-Year Report

Last winter we received the results of our Middle States report for accreditation. The report offers the following comments:
“Congratulations to the school for providing a challenging academic program within an atmosphere of Christian moral character. The reader commends the school for maintaining a steady enrollment in these difficult financial times. This feat must be a source of great pride to all members of the school community. The faculty is highly commended for their dedication and professionalism in offering numerous opportunities for students to develop leadership and socialization skills, talents and interests in curricular and extra-curricular activities. Emphasizing the use of technology throughout the curriculum is praiseworthy and prepares students to meet 21st century challenges and succeed in a rapidly changing society.”

Good News

The trips will include a grade appropriate classroom lesson, interactive session, Museum gallery exploration and tours of the Cruiser Olympia and Submarine Becuna. The grant also includes bus costs!!
