Parents: If you want to contact me immediately, please do not use email. The
quickest way is to send in a note, call the school, or see me after
dismissal. You can call the school at 610-678-0111.
Homework/Test Policy: I put the entire weeks school plan and homework
assignments on this web page usually on a Sunday night or right after school
on Monday.
Homework of about 30 min per night (Mon-Thur) will be given for most
subjects. I try to avoid Friday homework or Monday tests, but occasionally
you will have some. If you are out for any reason, please keep up with the
work. Make up tests quickly after you return if you are out on a test day.
Since I review the day before any test, please try and be at
school on review days. You will be responsible for knowing the material
whether you are in school or out. If you want help, please see me.
Spelling and Reading: Spelling tests are usually given every week. Most
weeks this will be a Friday. Except for rare occassions, Spelling workbook
pages are due on Wed and sentences for spelling words are due on
Thur. Reading tests for each story (includes vocab words and reading
comprehension) will be given after we read each story. Students are allowed
to use the reader for the comprehension part of the test. Students are
expected to study the vocab words for each story and know their meanings.
Unit tests are given at the end of each reading unit and include writing,
vocab, and comprehension questions. I usually give you 2-3 days to complete
this test.
7th grade geography: Tests are usually given weekly. Map tests and other
quizzes will be given periodically. Writing assignments and projects will be
given throughout the year. Homework includes reading assigned sections of a
chapter, completing the assigned guided reading worksheet, and placing the
terms from question 1 of each section assessment in your copybooks.
8th grade history: Tests are usually given weekly. Map tests and other
quizzes as well as writing assignments and projects are also given
throughout the year. Homework includes reading assigned sections of a
chapter, completing the assigned guided reading worksheet, and placing the
terms from question 1 of each section assessment in your copybooks.
Religion tests are usually given weekly. A unit test will be given at
the end of each unit. Small projects and journal writing will also be given
periodically.
