About The Teacher

Hello! I am so happy to be a part of the St. Ignatius faculty after
beginning in February, 2005 as a long-term substitute. When I
came to St. Ignatius at that time, I was returning to teaching after being a
full-time mother for over 8 years. My children are Andrea and Daniel and
they are in 7th and 5th grades respectively at Schuylkill Valley. Along
with my husband, Marlin, and two golden retrievers, we live in the Leesport
area.

Prior to being blessed with children, I was a vocal music teacher at the
Birdsboro Elementary Center in the Daniel Boone Area School District. I
started that position WAY back in 1982 after graduating from Lebanon Valley
College and left in 1996 when my daughter was born. In addition to my B.S.
in music education, I have taken many graduate classes in choral music and
movement, Orff, Kodaly, musical theatre, etc. at West Chester University,
Central Connecticut State University, Villanova, and East Stroudsburg.

I love all kinds of music, especially "showtunes" and I enjoy playing my
flute in pit orchestras when I get the chance. It is my hope that my
excitement and love for music will inspire my students to see themselves as
musicians as well.

Mission For The Class

...to develop each student's musical gifts and use them to glorify God.
