YOUTH CHOIR:
All St. Ignatius youth in grades 4 through 8 are invited to join the Youth
Choir. The Youth Choir sings at Wednesday School Masses as well as at the
Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass approximately twice each month. The Youth Choir also
sings on Christmas Eve and Easter and at the Parish Christmas Concert on
Sunday, December 13, 2009.
Youth Choir practices are held on Monday afternoons from 3:00 to 3:50 p.m. in
the Church. The first practice will be on Monday, September 14, 2009. Look
for a bulletin announcement and an information sheet to come home from school
soon. Choir members in grades 6 through 8 may also serve as student cantors
at our Wednesday School Masses. Please prayerfully consider sharing your
time and talent by being in the Youth Choir!!!
St. Ignatius students who are joining the choir should remain in their
homerooms on Mondays at dismissal time. At approximately 2:45, the Youth
Choir will be called to come to the cafeteria where Mrs. Behler will meet the
students and walk them over to the Church. Parents should pick up their
children at 3:50 p.m. at the Church. Thank you!
INFORMATION FOR GRADES 6-8
Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will need to bring several sheets of looseleaf
paper, a blue or black pen and a red pen to music class. A pencil is also
advisable for when we learn to write music notation. (Staff paper will be
provided.) A copybook is NOT required for music class.
