I have been teaching second grade at St.Ignatius since 1988. That is a LONG
time in second grade!I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a B.S. in
Elementary Education. I also have a Masters degree as a Reading Specialist
from Kutztown University. I have been married for 29 years and I have two
children, Sarah and Mike, both graduates of St.Ignatius and Holy Name High
School. I love teaching second graders because the students are excited
about learning. I enjoy teaching Reading because I love to read. Some of my
former students will say that my favorite subject is Math. We do a lot of
Math in second grade! I also love to have my students write lots of
stories because I like to read them and look at the illustrations.
Read your child's journal and look at the pages. Second graders are
very creative.
Our mission in second grade is to prepare for two very important
sacraments,Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. In addition we will
learn to respect others, improve our reading skills, and of course
learn many new Math skills.
