Welcome to 7th grade!
The most important work you will do this year is prepare for your
CONFIRMATION. This should be a time of growth and maturing. It was
suggested that over the summer vacation you begin to
1)select a sponsor
2)choose your patron saint
3)begin Christian service activities
If you haven't done these things there is still time...focus and get to work!
I have been given a red folder just as you received at the spring
confirmation meeting. Here is a reminder of the due dates. Anything
completed early may be handed in to me or Mrs. Deck upon completion!!
NOVEMBER 16th--BOTH the blue and the gold sponsor sheets from the red folder
are due at school. Your sponsor(if from out of the St. Ignatius Parish) is
asked to begin work on attaining their letter of eligibility from their
parish. They may have it sent to you or directly to Mrs. Lisa Deck at the
Religious Ed office here at school. This may take time so plan
accordingly...not every parish secretary is as efficient as Mrs. Skolney!
JANUARY 11th--the green paper indicating your knowledge and understanding of
the sacraments and prayers is to be signed by a parent or your sponsor.
This is due on MONDAY
JANUARY 31--The enrollment ceremony is part of the noon mass. Please make
plans to attend. You might consider inviting your sponsor.
FEBRUARY 17th--You will begin writing your Lenten Journal. You will given a
copy of the questions and areas of reflection. Please understand that you
will be given time to complete this in class, but any incomplete journals
will be returned for improvement.
FEBRUARY 22--Christian service hours are due along with the cover sheet and
FOUR yellow service sheets. Please be sure to have completed some time in
each of the four areas of service. The requirement is 16 hours that may
divided as you wish as long as you do at least one hour in each of the four
different areas. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY NOT USE THE SERVICE HOURS FOR
BOTH CONFIRMATION AND FOR JUNIOR NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY. The requirements
for the Junior National Honor Society will be outlined in that paperwork
when it is distributed.
MARCH 15th--the green paper indicating your knowledge and understanding of
the Catholic Principles chould be initialed by a parent or your sponsor.
APRIL 12th--Completed Lenten Journal is due
**Please be sure that you complete the requirements on time. If you haven't
yet begun your community service hours please be sure to connect with me,
Mrs. Viverios, Deacon Bill, Mrs. Deck, or Mrs.Regoski in the religous ed
office. WE WILL HELP YOU FIND PROJECTS TO COMPLETE THIS REQUIREMENT if you
need help! Don't wait until the last week. You will have projects and your
regular school work and athletic commitments. Plan ahead!
Thank you to all the moms who signed up to help with homeroom activities.
There really is very little that needs to be done--Halloween requires only a

responsible for the graduation reception held here in the cafeteria. If you
wish to either add your name to the list or sign up as the "leader" of the
mom organizing please let me know:
