Religion: We read, discussed,& highlighted the information on book pp.212 &
213 under the title, "Making Good Choices."
Math: We reviewed counting amounts of money by checking our homework.
Then, we read book p.52 to learn how to compare amounts of money.
We copied #1-4 on book p.53 into our copybook and compared the amounts
by using > and <.
We checked the division worksheet and looked over the last page that
was assigned for homework tonight.
Reading: We reviewed dictionary skills by using two worksheets. The first
worksheet practiced using entry words and the entire entry. The
second worksheet had us working with guide words. We did half of
each of these worksheets together in class. The other half was
assigned for homework.
We took another part of the unit 2 test.
English: We continued discussing the five parts of a friendly letter.
Today, we read and discussed an invitation.
We also learned that the date is part of the letter that is called
the heading.
We practiced writing a friendly letter by making a card for a
Veteran to include with our service project food items.
Social Studies: We learned about the four main directions on a compass rose,
north, south, west, and east, using p.7 in our "Map Skills"
booklet.

Religion: We added stars to the Jesse Tree for Abraham, since God promised
him that his children would be as numerous as the stars in the sky.
We tried to work quietly today, so we could color in the next part
on the Advent calendar.
We also celebrated Mass.
Math: We checked workbook p.8.
We used online money flashcards and our white boards to practice
counting money.
We drew some amounts of coins in our copybook to count up for homework
tonight.
Reading: We completed the reading comprehension part of the unit 2 test.
English: I read "Dear Mr. Blueberry" to the class and we reviewed the five
parts of a friendly letter.
We also looked at "Dear Mrs. LaRue," another book written using
friendly letters to tell the story.
We checked our homework.
We reviewed the direction on the first page of the friendly letter
packet, so the work could be done at home.
Spelling: The pretests were checked and given back.
The most common mistakes were discussed and tonight's homework was
explained.

Religion: We read book p.186 and added an apple with a bite taken out to the
Jesse Tree for Adam and Eve.
We had class with Fr. Cletus and went to Adoration.
Math: We used book p.3 to review each of the coins and their values. We also
counted up to find out the value of a given set of dollars and coins.
We drew the coins for problems 1-4 in our copybook starting with the
coins with the highest value and ending with the coins with the lowest
value. Then, we counted up by writing the new total under each new
coin, until we got the to the last coin. We underlined the last amount
2 times to show it was the total value.
Reading: We did the phonics part of the unit 2 test.
Social Studies: We discussed the reason for and importance of a map key.
We used the map and map key on "Map Skills" booklet p.5 to
practice using a map key. We completed 1-5 together, the rest
were completed for homework.
English: We wrote the five parts of a friendly letter in our copybook.
We read, discussed, and highlighted each part of a friendly letter
on a worksheet. (The questions at the bottom of the worksheet were
completed for homework.)
Spelling: We pulled out book p.66 and put it in our file, so we were ready to
take the pretest for homework.
