What are we learning??


TECHNOLOGY
4th-8th graders have all received their initial Edmodo login information!  A letter went out to all parents and guardians this week which details the uses of Edmodo and parent login information.  Please email me at keating@stjohnsschool-wallingford.com for your parent code!
"Digital Citizenship, Netiquette & Cyber Safety" is the name of the game for the first few months.  We will be discussing it, writing about it, seeing videos, making videos using Animoto, Glogsters, and slideshows about it.

2nd-3rd grade will be focusing on typing skills and creating documents on MaxWrite and MS Word.

Kindergarten & 1st grade are currently learning about Aesop's Fables thanks to Discovery Education.

HONORS MATH - 4th grade
Things are moving along at a brisk pace.  We have reviewed key points from 3rd grade math and have moved along nicely.  We are now into some pre-Algebra!
Homework is posted on our Edmodo site every night - by the students at the end of class.

HONORS MATH - 5th grade
We started off the year making our LEGOS Fraction Zoo (see our Edmodo page for more pics).  We have reviewed key points from last year and are moving along nicely, into some higher level thinking and vocabulary.  We are working on Algebra equations and decimal operations!
Homework is posted on our Edmodo site every night - by the students at the end of class.

PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THOSE CAR TRIPS AROUND TOWN TO QUIZ THE 4th & 5th GRADE STUDENTS ON THEIR MULTIPLICATION TABLES!!
