WHY ST. JOHN’S SCHOOL?
We asked school families to share their answer with you …
We
were introduced to St. John's school by a brief
conversation with someone, after visiting, we realized that St. John's was a
very special school. The atmosphere
was respectful and encouraged faith and learning. We will always be grateful
for that conversation!

…The morals
based education coupled with simply outstanding academics has provided an ideal
experience for our children. We feel that we are each vital parts of a
warm community with common goals. One of the children gave all of her
"piggy bank" money to a fund for the poor because she was,
"trying to become a saint." I cannot imagine a more lofty goal
and I am thankful to St. John's for such a fine educational experience whose
focus goes well beyond academics.
Marianne
and Brian Forbes (Grades K, 2nd, 3rd, 5th)
Our daughters have had a wonderful
experience at St. John's thus far and we are excited to know that it will
continue in the future. Not only are they receiving a top-notch education,
they are provided a nurturing environment in which to learn and grow. They are not merely a "number" but are valued members of the St. John's school community.

and Michelle O'Hanlon (Grades PK4 and 2nd)
My children’s
experience at St. John’s School has been
excellent – academically, spiritually and socially!!! Academically, my
children receive individual attention, have access to the latest technologies and have studied French for four years
even though they are only in 4nd grade.
They have also performed very well in the standardized
testing. The student-teacher ratio
is on par with private schools, even though
tuition is a fraction of private school
cost. Spiritually, my children experience and learn every day about being
kind to others and the importance of God in their lives. The many service
projects throughout the year reinforce, in a real and practical way, our
beliefs about helping others. Socially, my
children have blossomed into confident, polite and caring kids, who feel a
strong sense of community and belonging at St. John’s.

…But most importantly, we know everyday, when we drop
our daughter off in the morning, she is entering a school where she is
known, valued and loved. We know that she feels welcomed and
that this is place where she is reminded daily that God is in her life and
that life has a higher purpose. When conflicts arise, "what would
Jesus do" is the framework for how she is being taught they should be
resolved. As a parent, you often feel that the culture around you is something
that you have to protect your child from. At St. John's school, the
culture that our child is immersed in every day is one we can embrace.
Our parish can be proud that it provides this opportunity to its children.
Kelly and Bob Munsell (8th Grade)
We believe in
Catholic education and the value it has provided our three children. St
John's has prepared them well academically, socially and morally. We know
our children are in a caring environment with a strong community spirit.

Grade)
When we
began at St John's for kindergarten, we had planned to stay for just
kindergarten. We found the experience to be so positive and such a good
fit for our daughter that she is now in the third grade class at St. John's. The sense of family, the teacher
commitment to education, their commitment to the spirituality of the children,
and the close personal contact with the teachers has made this experience one
that we feel so fortunate to have for our daughter. Additionally, I love
the connections the older children build with the younger children. Pray
partners and the after school CARES program develop these relationships.
Trip and Laurie Thomas (3rd Grade)
When our daughter went to Pre-K we quickly realized that St. John’s is a great place to educate your children. The foreign language, art program, music program, drama club and advanced math are excellent. The superior education is a bonus to a nurturing Christian atmosphere. Recently our daughter told us she is glad she goes to St. John’s because Jesus is her friend and they talk about Him every day. Our youngest daughter is also in love with St. John’s.
The Ward Family (Grades PK4 and 2nd)
Thank you
to St. John’s for providing an exceptional Catholic school experience for our
family. We currently have four children at St. John’s and have been part of the
school community for seven years. We believe it is an academically challenging
environment with exceptional teachers.
Our children have benefited from the small class sizes and the
individual attention. Most important, their faith is the framework of each day
and they are growing as young Christians. Our children are happy, safe and
nurtured in their home away from home.
The
Maguire Family (Grades 1st, 3rd, 6th, 8th)
We have had such a pleasant experience with the
school. The preschool program was a great introduction to school and
greatly prepares the kids for kindergarten. We love the focus on
religion, respect, as well as academics. It is a nurturing and challenging
atmosphere where the children can grow.
Ed and Diana Selverian (Grades PK4 and 2nd)
Our daughter has been at SJC school for 4 years now and we
have really enjoyed the teachers that she has had - they just keep getting
better with each grade you go into!
The CARES after school program is wonderful as are the
teachers who run it. There is time for homework as well as time for the kids to
all play together… The teachers are very caring and compassionate. We
love being a party of the SJC family - we've built some really great
friendships.
Leslie and Dennis Poltrock (4th Grade)
We have two
SJC School graduates currently progressing through two different High
Schools. They were well prepared by the entire SJC School staff and
community, both spiritually and academically, to face the social and and academic challenges of High
School. We are fully confident our youngest
son will recieve the the same care and academic preparedness
up through graduation. He will be ready to move on to any High School opportunity.
Steve and Cindy Balmer (8th Grade)
…Our oldest
son happily returned to St. John’s for 8th grade where he was an individual part of a
Christian community of caring educators, involved parents and well mannered
students. St. John’s curriculum is
challenging, and its more traditional methods of instruction prepares its
students to perform well in any rigorous high school program.

We have been SJCS parents
for over twelve years now and we feel that SJCS strives to develop the
spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social needs of its students in a
Catholic environment. Through Faith and service, and in partnership with our
parish, parents, and community, SJCS offers a challenging curriculum which will
create life-long learners and responsible individuals who will grow in their love of God and as members of the greater
Catholic community.
We are also huge fans of the state of
the art computer lab and the amazing Drama Club!
Jacqueline & Paul M. O'Connell Jr. (8th Grade)
When we moved into the area we were looking for a good preschool for our daughter and found St. Johns. Four years later we now have another daughter attending SJC and they both are excelling both academically and socially. We were so welcomed by the school and parish community we could not imagine our children going anywhere else- they are getting the best academic, religious, and social experience possible at St. John's.
