Can it be May? Believe it or not, it's here! We have so much to do
before Grade 8 graduation on the 18th! On May 2nd, the 7th Grade invited us
to their Ethnic luncheon. They all did a marvelous job, and the 8th Graders
shared memories of their experience last year.
The class helped Senora Bryant set up for the Cinco de Mayo celebration.
In the afternoon, they taught their kindergarten buddies all about this
special day in Mexican history. They shared ethnic foods, broke candy-filled
pinatas, and did their best at the Mexican Hat Dance. What Fun! Thanks,
Senora!
We have our annual May Crowning in church at 1:15 on Tuesday, May 8.
It's always nice to see how many "big kids" remember crowning their moms in
1st Grade and singing that special song, "Let Me Be the Sunshine in your Day."
Congratulations and many thanks to all the class and their parents for
reaching their marathon goal. We have a FREE DAY on Wednesday, May 9th!!!.
Reading competition will be held that day at the former St. John the Baptist
School on East Main Street. Good luck, TEAMS!!!
Grades 7 and 8 will be going to Washington DC on Friday, May 11. We are
very excited! Pray for a safe trip and good weather.
First place winners in PJAS will be at Penn State, University Park on
Sunday and Monday, May 13 and 14. It will be business as usual for the rest
of us back at school on Monday.
Olympic Day will take place at Uniontown High School Stadium at 12:00 on
Tuesday, 5/15. On Wednesday, 5/16, there will be a dance for Grades 4-8 in
the gym from 12:30-1:30. The "Night at the Arts" will be held at Greensburg
Central Catholic High School from 6:00-8:00.
Our Kindergarten buddies will be graduating at 9:00 on Thursday, May 17.
We are making a gift for each one in school. Please do not buy anything else.
The Eighth Grade will do the readings for the 12:10 Mass for Ascension
Thursday.
Graduation for Grade 8 will be held at 10:00 on Friday, May 18th. More
information will be sent home next week.
It's been a wonderful experience working with this very special class; I
know they'll all do well in high school. They are wonderful young men and
women. God bless all of them, and God bless all of you!
