Hola!
I don't want to mention how long ago I began teaching, but my first teaching
position was at Connellsville High School. My husband and I then moved to
Lyndhurst, Ohio (suburb of Cleveland), where I taught 4 years until the
birth of my son. I became a stay-at-home mom, 4 1/2 years later having a
daughter to complete our family. We moved back to PA in 1997, and I
returned to teaching here at St. John's after my husband passed away. I am
beginning my thirteenth year as Spanish teacher, my seventh as Fifth Grade
teacher.
My children keep me busy when I am not in school. My daughter,
Courtney, is beginning her Freshman year at Seton Hill University in the
fall, studying Nutrition/Dietetics. My son, Brandon, graduated from WVU, and
is an accountant in Morgantown. They are the center of my life!
We are working on respect in the classroom, specifically not talking when
the teacher is talking, standing when an adult enters the classroom, and
waiting to answer until you are called upon. Listening skills can always be
strengthened!
I am looking forward to the new year and working with all of you. I know it
will be a great year!
Adios.
As we begin this year, we look forward to expanding our knowledge in many
areas. We will be changing classes, working in groups, continuing our
character education, and learning many new things in our main subjects. And
of course, let's not forget ESPANOL!
Our service project this year will be the Crime Victims' Center. We'll be
collecting various items for the non-profit agency during the year. We are
also going to put in service hours, during school time, towards our service
project. More details will be forthcoming.
As you can see we are going to be quite busy this year. I look forward to
seeing you grow emotionally, educationally, and spiritually.
