College Admission

**Contact Mrs. Harmon for an appointment to discuss your plans for college,

**If your are planning on taking the SATs/ACTs again, register for the October or November tests. You may need to consider taking the SAT II tests (subject tests) for certain colleges or majors.

**Begin admission applications as you narrow your list of college choices. It may help to: **Have a teacher review your admission essay. **Make a copy of the application to use as a rough draft. **Ask teacher/counselor at least two weeks in advance for a recommendation letter. **Give a teacher a copy of your resume and a list of the schools for which you need a recommendation.

**Most Early Decision/Action applications are due by November 15.

**If you want your application/transcripts mailed by THANKSGIVING, it must be requested by Friday, November 21st. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

**If you want your application/transcripts mailed by Christmas (which includes January 1 deadlines), it must be requested by Friday, December 12th. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

**IMPORTANT** If you are doing a PAPER application, it is recommended that the application, letters of recommendation, and transcripts in one"package." Therefore, once you have completed your sections, you will bring: the application, the fee (if needed), essays, letters of recommendation to Mrs. Harmon for her to complete and mail. If you do an INTERNET application, you must fill out a sheet for Mrs. Harmon before your transcripts or letters of recommendation will be sent. You should give at least a week before deadline, especially through Nov/Dec.

**Begin to listen for/read about scholarships that are available, and complete the applications. Be VERY AWARE of deadlines.
