Mrs. Harmon is an 1982 alum of St. Joseph High School and a graduate of the
University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in psychology. She received her Master's in
Education: Secondary Counseling from Slippery Rock University. She is beginning her 15th year as a
guidance counselor at St. Joe's, and is a part-time instructor/counselor for
the Westmoreland County DUI Program where she worked prior to St. Joe's.
Besides counseling and teaching psychology, Mrs. Harmon is also involved with the
Student Ambassadors, S.T.A.F.F., Student Ministry and retreats.
Introduction to Psychology gives the students a chance to explore the subjects of
senses, memory, emotions, motives, development, mental health, and abnormal
psychology as they relate them to the individual. By taking this college in high school
course, students have the opportunity to earn 3 credits from St. Vincent College.
