APPLE OF MY EYE: Congratulations to our latest “Apple of My Eye” winners: Matt Blue, Jack Davies, Jessica Getz, Benjamin Grove, and Makenzy Sanford.
SOME NOTES RECEIVED: Last week, members of our Service Corps delivered plants and cards to families in both St. Joseph parish and St. Robert parish who lost loved ones in the past year. This week, I received several notes thanking me for the visits by my “angels” who left plants and promises of prayers. I am always proud of my students but never more so than in situations like this!
THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES: Our Spring Show will be presented tomorrow evening, beginning at 7pm in the gym. Our students are asked to gather at 6:45pm in the church. You don’t want to miss this night of song and dance! Dee flyer on the website under communication envelope regarding attire.

5K R.A.C.E. – THANK YOU FROM THE RACE COMMITTE
What a spectacular evening with all the orange shirts as our SJR community ran/walked together. The support and sponsorship from our families and friends was overwhelming. We had 487 runners/walkers and the crowd that cheered was amazing and so energetic. We could not have accomplished such a well organized event without the enthusiasm of our students, faculty, alumni and families. Please go to the school website to view the race results. Again, your support was so greatly appreciated!
5K Race T-Shirts Available
If your family was not able to attend the 5K, we still have a few t-shirts left and are for sale for $8.00. The following sizes are available: Youth S & L and Adult S, M, & L. Please send the shirt size & money to the school office and we will send the shirts home with your child. Again, thanks for all the support.
THANK YOU, FATHER MATT: Over the weekend, we found out that Father Matt will be leaving St. Robert’s this summer. In order for families to have an opportunity to thank Father Matt for his years of service, there will be receptions for Father after each of the parish Masses the weekend of June 15th and June 16th. Father will greet people in Monsignor Marley Hall after each Mass. Light refreshments will be served. If you are willing/able to assist with some of the set-up/clean up, please contact the school office: 215-343-5100
LIVING MUSEUM: Visitors to our school on Monday were able to meet a variety of interesting people: Amelia Earhart, John F. Kennedy, JK Rowling, Albert Einstein, Shirley Temple, and Jackson Pollack to name a few. Our seventh graders worked to bring history to life for all of us by creating a Living History Museum in the cafeteria.
Congratulations to our students for a job well done – and to our own Miss D. for coordinating this annual event.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY: There is no school for the students on Friday, May 24th and on Monday, May 27th. Enjoy the long holiday weekend!
DORNEY PARK DAY: A longstanding SJR tradition continues! SJR Day at Dorney Park is set for Thursday, June 13th. To keep the cost reasonable for our families, our contract this year does not include food service. The price per ticket is $24. For more information, please contact Mrs. Margie McKevitt. See order form on the school website under the tab communication envelope.
FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS: Monday, June 10, 2013 is field day. Many volunteers are needed to make this day a success. Please fill out the form that is included in this week’s communication if you are able to help out.
2nd ANNUAL MOVIE NIGHT: SJR Fathers' Club is hosting its 2nd annual Movie Night on Saturday, June 1st. Movie begins at sundown (around 8:30pm). This year, movie night is FREE!! Refreshments will be available before the movie starts. See flyer--Vote for which movie you and your family would like to see! Movie with the most votes will be shown. Please RSVP by May 24th so we can provide refreshments for all.
SCRIP PROGRAM: Don’t forget Scrip cards when looking for graduation, Holy Communion, or birthday gifts! We also have a number of “summer favorites”: Rita’s Water Ice and Dairy Queen!
JUST A THOUGHT: During the St. Robert parish May Procession last week, Father Matt Guckin was the guest homilist. Father spoke of the incredible things Mary was asked to accept and believe. He then spoke of how her faith in things considered “incredible” allowed her to do things that were considered impossible.
He challenged each of us to
“Believe the incredible so we can do the impossible!”
What a wonderful challenge for us all!
SJR SCHOOL: PROUD OF OUR PAST,
FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE,
MAKING A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!
