Classroom Discipline

Rules:

            1.  Listen carefully.
            2.  Follow directions.
            3.  Raise your hand and wait to be called upon.
            4.  Work quietly.
            5.  Always be polite and use good manners.
            6.  Always try your best.
            7.  Smile!

The Stop Light:

            ~ In the morning, all children have their names on the green 
              light.

            ~ If a student breaks a rule, he/she is asked to move their name 
              to the yellow light.

            ~ If the student's behavior continues to deteriorate, he/she will
              be asked to move their name to the red light.

            ~ If the student's behavior improves significantly, they will be
              able to work their way back to the green light.  However, if a 
              student displays extreme behavior (ex. hitting) they will   
              remain on the red light for the entire day.

            ~ At the end of the day, students on:
                 Green---draw a green happy face on their calendar
                 Yellow--draw a yellow straight face on their calendar
                 Red-----draw a sad red face on their calendar



The Marble Jar:
           ~ As a class incentive, we have a marble jar.  During the day 
             when the students are deserving of earing a marble a marble is
             dropped into the jar.  When undesired behavior is being 
             demonstrated by the class, marbles are removed from the jar.

           ~ When the marble jar is filled the class will earn a class reward.
             (free time, extra recess, snack, movie, etc.)
