Reading, understanding what you have read, and being able to discuss
what you have read are very important skills for succes in third
grade. Children should be reading every day. Reading does make a
difference, and not just reading, but comprehending what you have
read. Kids can read anytime, early in the morning or at night before
going to bed. Help your child to develop good reading habits.
After your child reads something, please ask you child to tell you a
little about what they read. Children must not only read, but learn
to respond to literature. Please open the door to success for your
child encourage him/her to read, read, read.

suggestions. There a many, many more exciting books for your child
to read. Visit a library, book store or have a book exchange with
friends. The best gift you can give your children is the opportunity
to read and engage in active reading.
