SHARP SPELLER See - Look at the word Hear - Say the word aloud. Adopt - Close your eyes. Spell the word. Record - Cover the word. Write the word. Proofread - Check the word. ******************************************************************** Spelling Activities Grade 2 Complete spelling homework in Spelling Homework Copybook. 1. Spelling List. Type a list of your spelling words on your computer. Print out the list and tape it in your homework copybook. 2. Spelling Words. Look at your spelling list. Choose the six hardest words and write each word 3X in your spelling copybook. 3. Spelling Sentences. Pick 3 spelling words and write a sentence for each word you choose. Remember to stretch the sentence so that it tells a good story. Each sentence must have at least 7 words in it. 4. Picture This. Choose 5 of your spelling words. Draw a picture for each word and under the picture write the spelling word or a phrase with the spelling word in it. For example, if the spelling word is fast and you draw a car, write fast car under your picture. Neatly color your pictures. 5. Colored Vowels Spelling List. Print each of your spelling words in pencil but leave a space for each vowel. Go back and write the missing vowel with your red pen. 6. Spelling Bookmark. Design a bookmark. Draw and color a picture on the front of the bookmark. Write your spelling words on the back. Use a ruler to draw lines for your spelling words. COMPLETE THESE ACTIVITIES WITH A PARENT OR OLDER SIBLING. 7. Popsicles - Make words using popsicle sticks. 8. Etch-A-Sketch - Use an Etch-A-Sketch to write your words. 9. 3D words - Use modeling clay rolled thinly to make your word. 10. Be Creative - let me know how you studied your words. ********************************************************************* REVIEW YOUR WEEKLY SPELLING WORDS Go to my Links page.
