Walk around and see the creative scarecrows designed and built by the 8th grade art classes.  They were challenged to work in a team to create a themed scarecrow using recycled materials, that would withstand the weather in an outdoor installation.  They also had to write a limerick that would explain a little about their scarecrow.
Many of our projects this year have been inspired by the garden!

We're looking forward to a creative year, filled with experimentation of
line, color and texture. Art Class is once a week so we have to make the most
of our time.  Participation and cooperation will enhance the learning and fun
for everyone. The class is not about perfect finished pieces.  The goal is to
explore the different mediums so the student is comfortable and can continue
to grow as an artist.

Students in grades 4 through 8 will keep their work in a portfolio in school.
This practice makes it available for display throughout the year and can be
reviewed for grading. K through 3 will keep some work in school for display
as needed.  All artwork will go home with the students at the end of the year.

Our ART SHOW will be in April this year in conjunction with the book fair.
All students K through 8 will have art on display.
