St. Maximilian Kolbe Extra-Curricular Activites
CHOIR
The choir program is run by Ms. Topper, our Music Teacher. The choir participates in many events throughout the year. During the Christmas Season we can be found providing entertainment for shoppers at the Exton Square Mall and in the Spring we prepare for the School Musical, a Spring Concert, and sing the National Anthem at the Wilmingtom Blue Rocks game. We also sing for school and parish liturgies throughout the school year. The school choir is open to all students in grades 3-8. Practices are held one day a week after school.
BAND
Our Junior and Advanced Band program is run by Mrs. Amanda Nagler. Students in grades 4-8 may participate in the band. Lessons are given weekly with band practice before and after school. Concerts are given in winter and spring to showcase the children's talents.
DRAMA
St. Max offers students the opportunity to participate in school shows. The entire student body participates in the annual Christmas Play. The 8th grade students have acting parts and students in grades 1-7 sing a class song. The Pre-School and Kindergarten students put on their own Christmas Play. Parents are invited to attend both plays.
St. Max also showcases an annual Spring Show. Auditions are held for students in grades 7 and 8. The choir also performs during the show. In the past St. Max has presented Snow White, The Beauty and the Beast, Annie Jr., and last year Fiddler on the Roof. These shows are directed by Mrs. Judy Lynch, our pre-school teacher, Ms. Sara Topper, our music teacher and Mrs. Pat Frantz, our art teacher.
CYO SPORTS
You name it, we have it!
KIDS IN ACTION
Kids in Action is a service oriented program that meets twice a month. the program is run by parent volunteers and students in grades 1-8 may participate.
VIDEO CLUB
St. Max offers the 8th grade students the opportunity to participate in the video club. Students write and produce weekly news broadcast (WSMK) over our closed circuit tv system. The students learn how to be on camera or they have a chance to learn how to operate the camera, and work behind the scenes. This is a privilege, therefore the students need to be in good academic and behavioral standing to participate.
