Volunteer.
Outlined below are the requirements for volunteering at St. Maximilian Kolbe
1. Contact the school office to obtain your Criminal Record check.
2. Complete and submit a Child Abuse Clearance application. You can get
this clearance from the office. We are asking you to pay $10.00 when
submitting the application. After you have received your clearance (which
will be mailed to your home) and you bring the original to the office to be
copied, your $10.00 will be refunded.
3. Attend the Safe Environment Training Program (Protecting God’s
Children). To register for this class, please go to www.virtus.org.
4. If you recently moved into the state of Pennsylvania, a FBI
Fingerprint clearance will also be required. You can get the instructions
in the office and go to the Chester County Intermediate Unit for the
fingerprinting.

positions that we have to offer. Look below for a summary of the volunteer
positions that are offered at St. Max.
Please fill out the hard copy Volunteer Summary form that was sent in the
Friday folder and submit it to the office by June 8, 2009.
Volunteer Opportunities

_____Friday Folders
Volunteers needed Thursday afternoons@1:00 p.m. to stuff hanging folders and
Friday mornings@ 9:00 a.m. to stuff white envelopes and deliver bins to
classrooms and on Monday mornings @9:00 a.m. to pick up bins from
classrooms, empty and disperse the contents of folders to the front office.

_______Library Aide
Volunteers needed daily to assist classes, catalog, shelve, do inventory,
paperwork, etc. Other jobs are available on a less frequent basis.

(Specific grade/class times will not be known until the beginning of the
school year)

______Homeroom Parent
Volunteers needed for every class to plan and organize holiday parties and
other special events, as directed by the specific teacher. The Homeroom
Parent is the liaison with the teacher but must involve other interested
parents in these parties and events. (Must check with specific teacher
regarding siblings).

Volunteers needed daily from 11:15 – 1:00 to dispense beverages, assist
serving of food, collect lunch trays, load them into dishwasher, dry
and line them. (SIBLINGS WELCOME)

Volunteers needed daily to help monitor children during lunch and
recess.
Volunteers are responsible for cleaning the tables for grades 1,2,3.

_______Nurse’s Office
RNs needed to cover 3 to 4 School District In-Service days to dispense
medicine, assess sick children and handle injuries and medical emergencies
(NO SIBLINGS, PLEASE).
Please circle time preference: 8:30 – 12:00 or 12:00 – 3:00

______Middle School Dances
Volunteers are needed to chaperone, purchase food and drink, set up/clean up
for middle school dances.
Chaperones are needed for:
• 2 CYO Middle School dances at St Max for St. Max’s 6th , 7th , and
8th grade students,
• 6-8 Cluster dances that will be held monthly. One cluster dance will
take place at St. Max and then several neighboring parishes for 7th & 8th
grade students. St Max must provide two chaperones for each Cluster Dance.
Assistance from all parents of students who attend the dances is needed to
make the dances a success. Your help means so much!
Shadow the current chair (Lisa Czyzewski) of this committee – Duties include
coordinating volunteers and planning and organizing the dances as described
above. (Ideally a 7th grade parent who would continue to chair for the
following year)

_____Wrapping Paper Fundraiser
Volunteers needed to help with unloading and sorting of the order at time of
delivery. Assistance is also needed with distribution. This is a once a
year fundraiser held in the Fall.

_____Breakfast with Santa
Volunteers needed to plan and organize this once a year event.
Volunteers will assist with decorating prior to event and help with food,
crafts and visits with Santa on the day of the event.
Chair/co-chair this committee – Duties involve planning and organizing this
once a year event, coordinating volunteers and arranging for food, crafts and
entertainment.
_____Santa’s Secret Shop
Volunteers needed to help organize (set up/clean up) the Santa Shop,
help children select gifts and restock tables between classes

Volunteers needed to help organize the event and work the night of
the event.
