VACCINES                            REQUIREMENTS

Diphteria & Tetanus                4 Doses: at least one after 4th birthday (DTaP/DTP/DT/Td)

Pertussis                                   4 Doses: at least on after 4th birthday (DTaP or DTP)*

Polio                                        3 Doses (OPV/IPV)

Measles                                    2 Doses: both after 1st birthday (MMR or MMRV)

Mumps                                                2 Doses: both after 1st birthday (MMR or MMRV)*

Rubella                                                2 Doses: both after 1st birthday (MMR or MMRV)*

Hepatitis B                               3 Doses properly spaced (HBV)

Varicella                                  2 Doses: both after 1st birthday (Varicella or MMRV) or documentation of chickenpox immunity proven by laboratory testing or a written statement of prior chickenpox disease from a healthcare provider*

 

Please pass this information on to your relatives and friends who have children of Kindergarten age. If you know of children who plan to register at St. Nicholas School in grades other than Kindergarten, they must apply by February 3, 2010.  Space available in grade, child’s behavior and academic grades will determine acceptance in St. Nicholas School.  PLEASE BRING A COPY OF THEIR LAST REPORT CARD  IF FAMILY IS NOT REGISTERED AT ST. NICHOLAS PARISH, A LETTER OF ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER ST. NICHOLAS SCHOOL IS REQUIRED FROM FAMILY’S PARISH PASTOR.

 

EMERGENCY CLOSINGS     When the weather is inclement and you are not certain if school will be in session, you are asked to listen to radio station KYW (1060 AM on the radio dial).  Please  DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL CONVENT OR RECTORY.

 

PLEASE MAKE SURE CHILDREN ARE DRESSED WARMLY FOR THE WINTER MONTHS!

 

CONGRATULATIONS           Dominique Colanero and Alex Catrambone for winning the John Redmond Basketball Tournament Essay Scholarship.  They will each receive $500.00 towards their freshman year tuition.

 

REMINDER                            PLEASE REPORT ALL CHANGES OF ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBERS TO THE OFFICE.  EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN EMERGENCY NUMBER ON FILE IN THE OFFICE.

 

IMPORTANT!                         Supervision cannot be given to children on school property before 8:00 A.M.  A “Before School Program” is available from 7:30 A.M. to those in need.  Morning supervision is not the responsibility of the SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD.
