What can I do to help my child study more accurately?

I believe that flash cards work the best. Whether it be definitions,
spelling words, or even frequent questions. Flash cards, I believe, are the
way to go!

What is needed for a test?

In Social Studies - we highlight the "Quick Study" workbook and only study
what is highlighted in the text.
In Religion - we highlight the chapter we are studying. Again, it is only
necessary to study the information that is highlighted.
In Math - It is best to drill the students on various problems throughout
the chapter.
In Science - Review over the labs/lab books with the important facts or "big
picture." Also, vocabulary is of high importance.
For ILA- Reading - we review every question that will be tested on the
students, and go over the "theme" of each story such as cause and effect. If
you wish, reinforce those skills, you can usually find them in their
workbooks. Also, the vocabulary that is posted on the site.
Spelling - Again, flash cards would be the best way, or just constant
drilling and writing them over and over again.
English - go through the chapter review, which we do in class. The
review is very beneficial for the tests.

What do I do with the homework and how much will the student's receive

Like I stated on Back To School Night, the Archdiocese requires 60 minutes
of homework a night. Monday-Friday.
Once the students finish their homework and you are checking it, there is no
need to sign the individual homework. You may just sign the homework book,
which shows me that you have verified that the child has done his/her
homework. Homework should be finished every single night. If it is not,
there will be a mark on the calendar.
