What is the St. Thomas Parish Religious Education Program? The St. Thomas Parish Religious Education Program is a formal religious education program which provides faith formation and sacramental preparation to parish children who attend local public schools. What Grade Levels are included in the Program? The St. Thomas Religious Education Program provides instruction to students from Grade Level 1 through Grade Level 6. When are classes scheduled to begin? to finish? STTA PREP classes begin in September and conclude prior to Memorial Day in May. What is the roster of class days and session times?
What is the phone number for the STTA PREP office? The phone number for the STTA PREP office is 610-459-3477. The Director of Religious Education is Mary Sassani. What are the office hours for the STTA PREP office? The STTA PREP office is staffed Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays while classes are in session the STTA PREP office is staffed until the last student has left the school building in the custody of a parent or guardian. How can a parishioner enroll a child in the STTA PREP? Registration of children in STTA PREP is conducted during June, July and August prior to the Program's September start. Newly registered parishioners can register a child at any time following registering in the Parish. Is a registration fee required? The registration fee to register 1 child is $80.00, for 2 children it is $140.00 and for 3 children or more the fee is $180.00. The registration fee is due at the time of registration in the Program. Is there any record required with STTA PREP registration? A copy of a child's Baptismal certificate is required for a child entering STTA PREP for the first time. What is the attendance policy of STTA PREP? It is Archdiocesan policy and, therefore, the policy of STTA PREP that 3 or more absences during the course of the PREP calendar year is considered excessive. Excused absences include: illness of the student, serious illness in the family, death in the family, quarantine, or other urgent reason. When is an absence considered officially excused? Absences are considered only after a note has been presented to the child's catechist. The absence note should be sent with the child the next time the child attends class. Is there a procedure for early dismissal from a class? While early dismissal is not encouraged, we realize that emergency circumstances arise from time to time which would make early dismissmal necessary. In the event that an early dismissal is necessary, the parent or guardian who will be escorting a child from the school building is to report to the STTA PREP office. The Director or a Hall monitor will escort the child to the office for pickup. What is the PREP/CCD E-mail address?
