This will be my eighth year teaching at WPSD. I began my teaching career
when I graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2000 with a degree in
elementary education. Before I went back to graduate school full-time, I
taught Kindergarten for one year and middle school science for one year
(hearing students).
In May, 2005, I graduated with my MEd. in deaf education from the University
of Pittsburgh. I am currently certified in elementary education, middle
school science, general high school science and deaf education (K-12).
I was born in Reading, PA, and even though I miss my family there, I'm happy
to say that I have called Pittsburgh home for more than 10 years now! I
love reading, running, and traveling. Oh! and of course, playing with my big
cat, Auzzie. My daughter, Raegan Catherine, will be celebrating her fourth
birthday this October! Our family's newest addition, Ryann Justine, was born
in February.

My mission for the class is simple...active learning. Most students learn
best when they actively work through it on their own.
This semester my classes will be experimenting, building, role-playing, and
using technology to learn, retain the knowledge, and enjoy what they are
doing, all at the same time.
